Going North – Day 14

Hi Everyone, Day 14.

Coming across some thinner sections of ice and more cracks as I am moving.

Often people assume my expeditions to the South Pole are harder than my attempt to go to the North Pole, but that isn’t actually true.

In Antarctica there is a logistics company supports expeditions, there is 24 hours of daylight, and my journeys there have been on land.

The Arctic, whether attempting to reach the North Pole or travelling where I am now, the sea ice is much harder to move across. It’s dynamic, constantly shifting and moving. There are sections of open water, the presence of polar bears. It’s a constantly changing environment where the ground beneath you can move.

Both are amazing environments to travel in though I do find the dry windy cold (in Antarctica) easier to manage than the wet humid cold on the sea ice.

Thats all for today.
